The Great Work
Introduction
This timeline follows the evolution of my creative practice and the life that shaped it.
It begins not with finished artwork, but with the experiences that transformed the way I saw the world. From moments of awakening and sobriety to profound loss, each chapter became the foundation for the work that followed.
In alchemy, the Magnum Opus, or "Great Work," refers to the lifelong process of inner transformation. I can't think of a better way to describe this body of work.
Every piece builds upon the last. Some mark technical breakthroughs, others document seasons of grief, recovery, curiosity, or wonder. Together they form a continuous conversation between lived experience and creative expression.
Rather than presenting the artwork as isolated projects, this timeline reveals how each collection connects to the next, showing not only how my visual language evolved, but how each piece became a stepping stone toward the person and artist I continue becoming.
Artistic Timeline
November 2020 – The Experience
Before any of the work collected here existed, I had a transformative experience that would quietly shape everything that followed. Although I didn't have the skills or language to express it at the time, many of the questions that would later define my practice began here.
That experience would eventually become Genesis of Gaia, completed four years later.
December 19, 2021 – Sobriety
The first step of the Great Work.
This marks the beginning of the journey that made everything else possible.
Choosing sobriety was not a single moment of transformation,
but the decision to begin rebuilding my life one day at a time.
It gave me the clarity to rediscover art, examine my inner world, and begin creating with purpose rather than escape. Every portfolio, journal, and collection on this website traces back to this decision.
2022: Foundations & Breakthrough
This was the year my core visual language was born. Working through physical tremors during early sobriety, I developed a new approach to mark-making that turned limitation into technique. The focus was on establishing a foundation while beginning to explore both visual art and writing as parallel forms of expression.
February 28, 2022 – "The Void" - [Personal Essay]
Written during the early months of sobriety, this personal essay marks the beginning of my written work and introduces many of the themes that would later appear throughout both my writing and visual art. It reflects the early stages of recognizing that personal transformation is built through daily choices rather than a single moment of change.
April 12, 2022 – "Morgan" - [Major Work]
The piece that started it all. Created during the early months of sobriety, this work introduced the vibrating, high-density linework technique that became my signature style. What began as a necessity [channeling unsteady hands into mark-making] evolved into a powerful new visual language.
April 20, 2022 – "Sly Fox" - [Major Work]
The second piece in the series. Building on the same energetic linework, this work reflects a growing sense of playfulness and emerging light during a period of personal rebuilding.
June 23, 2022 – "The Gravity of Duality" - [Poem]
Written six months into sobriety, this poem continues the exploration of identity and uncertainty that began in and becomes one of the earliest foundations of my creative voice. It moves from questions of mortality and ego toward an acceptance of contradiction and duality.
June 24, 2022 – "Digital Bath" - [Major Work]
A major technical shift. This piece moved away from chaotic linework into a meticulous stippling technique, focusing on light, refraction, and luminosity. It marked the first clear development of my interest in optical depth and perceptual effects.
August 15, 2022 – "Delicate" - [Minor Work]
A minor but meaningful technical exercise. Created as a study in realism, this piece of a Luna Moth was made to rebuild fine motor control and observational precision after years of tremors.
August 23, 2022 – "Connection" - [Major Work]
This work expanded into multi-figure composition while refining color segmentation and optical depth. It explored themes of intimacy, vulnerability, and fleeting bonds during a time of personal reevaluation.
December 19, 2022 – "Starfox" - [Major Work]
A pivotal turning point.
Created a year after sobriety, during one of the most difficult periods of my life, this large-scale work became both a personal lifeline and a symbolic anchor. It introduced hidden sacred geometry and remains one of the most significant pieces in my practice.
December 28, 2022 – "Phoenix Fire" - [Minor Work]
A lighter companion piece created shortly after Starfox. This work explores themes of rebirth and ascension, offering a more celebratory counterpoint to the intensity of the previous piece.
2023: Expansion, Commerce & Emotional Depth
This year was defined by contrast. I moved between commercial commissions and some of the most emotionally intense personal work I had created up to that point. While testing my ability to work at scale, I was also processing deep grief, which led to both large hand-drawn pieces and more intuitive, emotionally layered writing.
February 10, 2023 – "Heaven's Gate" - [Major Work]
Created while my dog Izzie was still alive, this piece was made as a way of sitting with the possibility of future loss.
It became a devotional meditation on love, memory, and the invisible threads that remain after someone we love becomes part of who we are.
March 20, 2023 – "Grief's Cage" - [Major Work]
Created before, but written after, Izzie’s passing, this piece explores how grief can narrow one’s world and cage identity. Together with Heaven’s Gate, these two works form one of the most emotionally significant statements in my practice.
March 23, 2023 - "Spectral Fox" [Minor Work]
A lighter, more illustrative piece that returns to my core signature style after the heavy emotional mandalas of early 2023.
May 2, 2023 – "Without Blossom" & "Moon Blossom"
[Major Commercial Work]
A successful large-scale commission for an EDM producer. Two versions were created — one vibrant and full, the other cleaner and more detailed — demonstrating my ability to work at scale while maintaining intricate hand-drawn elements.
July 1, 2023 – "Signal Series" - [Minor Work]
A minor digital collection focused on blended layers, luminosity, and motion. This series marked a shift toward more screen-based techniques while continuing to explore psychedelic forms and depth.
10/5/2023 – "Fractal Future" - [Poem]
Written during a period of grief and personal fragmentation, this poem reflects a shift toward more intuitive and emotionally layered writing. It captures the experience of navigating uncertainty through rhythm and repetition rather than linear narrative.
2024: Reflection & Synthesis
This was a quieter year focused on processing and integration. After the intensity of the previous two years, I spent time reflecting on earlier experiences while continuing to experiment with digital techniques and exploring new themes in my writing, particularly around boundaries and self-protection.
September 30, 2024 – "Ascension Series" - [Minor Work]
A minor collection of vortex and portal-style mandalas. This series continued my exploration of light, motion, and layered digital effects.
October 30, 2024 - Phoenix Fire Collection • Digital Collection
The Phoenix Fire Collection is a series of companion pieces connected to the original Phoenix Fire artwork. Released in late 2024, these works explore themes of rebirth, light, and transformation through different symbolic lenses.
November 21, 2024 – "Gaia" - [Major Work]
A visual translation of a transformative experience from 2020. This piece, along with its supporting collection, Genesis of Gaia, traces the stages of that journey. From questioning and awakening, through distortion, and eventual presence. It stands as both a personal origin story and a major artistic milestone.
December 19, 2024 - Starfox Anniversary Collection
This collection presents 20 detailed fragments from the original Starfox, along with the exclusive Arcane Edition. Each piece offers a closer look at the intricate linework, color, and hidden sacred geometry that define the full work. Together they show the level of detail and energy that went into the full piece, while standing on their own as individual artworks.
January 24, 2024 – "Saturn Return" - [Poem]
This poem explores the difficult transition from unconditional empathy to healthy discernment. Written during a period of recognizing patterns of manipulation and learning to establish boundaries, it documents the process of rebuilding self-respect after repeatedly questioning my own judgment.
2025: Return to Hand-Drawn Work
This year marked a return to dense, expressive hand-drawn mandalas alongside more personal and symbolic explorations. After periods of digital experimentation and emotional processing, I came back to more direct, physical mark-making while beginning to channel deep grief into new forms of creation and meaning.
February 25, 2025 – Izzie's Passing
After nearly fifteen years together, I said goodbye to my Beloved, Izzie. Her passing became one of the defining turning points of both my life and my creative practice.
What followed became an exploration of remembrance, how to carry grief forward through art, and the ways creativity can preserve what love refuses to lose.

February 10, 2025 - Heaven's Gate Collection • Digital Companion Series
The Heaven’s Gate Collection is a companion series to the original Heaven’s Gate piece. It uses celestial imagery such as stars, orbits, gravity, and cosmic events as a way to explore love, connection, loss, and the invisible forces that bind us.
March 6, 2025 – "Sunshine Daisy Daydream"
[Minor Work]
A hand-drawn daisy mandala created shortly after Izzie’s passing. Rendered in an expressive, Van Gogh-inspired style, this piece is both a celebration of light and a direct emotional response to loss.
March 10, 2025 – "Eyes of Hera" - [Minor Work]
A dense psychedelic mandala featuring peacock-eye motifs. The title and symbolism originated from a personal dream in which a peacock appeared as a meaningful sign. This piece synthesizes fine hand-drawn linework with strong color contrast and dynamic movement.
March 26, 2025 – "Sacred Navigator" - [Minor Work]
A complex radial mandala functioning as a symbolic compass. It brings together geometric and spiritual symbols from multiple traditions into a single layered structure, exploring themes of interconnection and consciousness.
2026: Transition into Analog Work
This year marks a significant shift into analog and botanical work. Following the loss of Izzie, I began creating memorials and preserved floral pieces as a way to channel love and grief into something tangible. This new direction represents both a continuation of my creative practice and the development of an entirely new body of work rooted in nature, ritual, and preservation.
March 12, 2026 – "Honoring Betty – [Floral Memorial]
“The Seeds We Leave Behind"
Created as a memorial using flowers from the funeral arrangements of Elizabeth “Betty” Sprigler, this piece preserves a portion of the beauty she loved and tended throughout her life. Made shortly after the loss of my own heart dog, Izzie, creating this memorial for another family became an unexpected turning point that helped me begin learning how to care for my own grief through the act of preserving someone else’s memories.
February 12, 2026 – "Izzie’s Garden" - [Floral Memorial]
This body of work marks the transition into my analog practice and explains why flowers became central to my creative life after Izzie’s passing. Rather than a story of healing, it is the place where my love needed somewhere to go — through gardening, pressing flowers, creating memorials, and building daily rituals with the natural world. What began as a way to stay close to her became the foundation for an entirely new body of work rooted in presence, preservation, and devotion.
The Work Continues
This timeline documents where the work has been; not where it ends. The Magnum Opus was never meant to be completed.
Alchemy describes the “Great Work” as a lifelong process of transformation rather than a destination. It is an ongoing practice of paying attention, preserving what matters, and following curiosity wherever it leads.
Looking back across these years, I can see recurring themes emerging long before I recognized them myself.
Questions become symbols. Symbols become artwork. Artwork becomes understanding.
Every piece changes the meaning of the ones that came before it.
